About Chesepi Chesapeakes

We obtained our first Chesapeake in 1983 and have been working Chesapeakes on local shoots since 1984.

We bred our first litter in 1987 and our choice from this first litter - Chesepi Amigo Mio - went Best in Show at the Chesapeake Bay Retriever Club's show in 1989. Jamie went on to win Best of Breed at Crufts in 1990, and Reserve Best of Breed at Crufts in 1995 and 1997. Not just a pretty face, he worked hard as a picking up dog all his life, as well as competing in many working tests and gained a Field Trial Award in 1991. Jamie was the first of many home-bred, hard working Chesapeakes who have also achieved many successes in the showing world. We are a true dual purpose kennel.

Chesepi Chesapeakes have also achieved great success overseas, having been exported to America, Bermuda and New Zealand, as well as Belgium, Eire, Finland, France and Holland.
